Painting Space Marines is Easy!

Consider that itch thoroughly scratched....

It's been a while...

I've been burned out by 40K and my beloved Orks lately (and life in general). So I took a break. Then that itch started to develop. You know that itch. The one that's in the back of your mind that makes you want to DO things, like spend ungodly amounts of money on overpriced plastic representations of little men in power armor. All of the cool shit that's coming from ForgeWorld lately has finally inspired me enough to put together a SPESH MEREEN!

But not any kind of Space Marine, no. A Flesh Tearer. Observe:

"But Catalog," you say. "In the Blood Angels Codex jump packs are overpriced compared to the break you get if you choose a dedicated transport."

"I've got it covered, hypothetical you," I reply. "Behold!"

"But how?" Hypothetical you looks stunned.

"I am the master of magnetism!"

I realize that's a long way to go for very little humor, but what did you expect?

All kitted out

Here's the Battlewagon with all of the included options thrown on: four gunners, a cannon, grabber claw, etc. They're all removable and can be configured in a variety of ways. So I think I'm just about done. I just need a few extra parts to make myself happy, most importantly a driver. Oh, and I'll have to build a Deff Rolla. :) I think I'll switch gears for a bit and get back to painting my Warbiker Boss...

Work continues on the BW...

Here's a couple of more pics of the WIP Battlewagon. I think I'm done with the parts that need to be cut and connected to accomodate the two kits put together, so I've started on some turrets and options. I'm hesitant to glue anything down at this point; even the main body of the wagon isn't glued down. I need to buy a couple of parts (for some reason there is no driver included for the wagon, and I know it will bug me if there isn't a driver), and then maybe I can finish assembling this damn thing.

Work commences on Supa-Battlewagon

Using the idea found on Bell of Lost Souls here, I have started work on my own Supa Battlewagon. I've spent about three hours on it so far (I had one of those "it's midnight already?" nights last night), and it's coming along pretty well. The only mistake I've made is that when I cut the two floor pieces and put them together, I left too much material inbetween them. But I can work around it (I hope so; I don't really have a choice anymore).

Tau-Tastic

Well the updates continue. Got the camo on. Not much but its there.
Got some weathering effects going on, and I made my engines GLOW.
Just have to finish the gun, drones, and hatch, and then magnetize the back hatch on then done.

Of course I will have to remember how to do this again for the other vehicles....lol

Lets try this again

Ok light coat of base put over the vehicle again.
from a distance looks ok, up close looks like a used tissue....but oh well.
highlight dark color of the camo scheme applied.
I REALLY need to thin out these paints but it looks ok for now.

So next step is to dry brush...perhaps and then SEAL IT.

After I seal it I will do my airbrush pigment weathering.
That way when I rub off the excess....I wont take the paint with it.
